Marya Kazoun’s, Time After Self Portrait, an installation of the artist’s “self-portraits”-- stuffed black “creatures” positioned throughout the Marquis Piazza will come alive with a dazzling performance on Friday, December 4th at 12noon, in front of Miami’s new landmark residential condominium Marquis, 1100 Biscayne Boulevard.

Another performance, Layered Defenses, is scheduled at 5:00 pm on the same day at ART ASIA Miami for Truly Truthful exhibition curated by Leeza Ahmady at SOHO Studios 2136 NW 1st Avenue. (Cocktail reception hosted by SAAGA Vodka 4pm-6pm)

Working primarily in installation and performance, Kazoun creates worlds that parallel the one in which we live – exploring micro versus macro, beauty versus ugliness. Her artistic approach is predominantly feminine, as seen in her dexterity with materials and mastery of ancestral techniques like sewing and weaving.
