Atlantic Assets

In 2006, Atlantic Assets Group acquired eight three-story retail/residential buildings in a run-down neighborhood in Downtown Brooklyn. The block was underutilized, despite its location at the conjunction of ten neighborhoods and its proximity to a major transit hub.

Art Assets was hired to design a series of art installations and cultural programs to announce the mixed-use development, Atlantic Gardens, as a destination. The objective for the owner was to use art and cultural programming to re-invent and re-position the properties while planning and renovation was underway. Art Assets continues to create a new series of art installations and cultural events to complement the retail leasing program and engage the media.

The arts and cultural programming designed by Art Assets was the primary marketing tool used by Atlantic Assets Group. The innovative programming has included collaborations with major cultural institutions such as Creative Time and the Brooklyn Philharmonic, curated exhibitions with internationally recognized artists such as Michael Rakowitz, and numerous site-specific installations and performance-based works with internationally-recognized artists.
